The Supreme Council is the highest authority within the MWL, responsible for approving all plans set forth by the General Secretariat.
The Council consists of 60 prominent Islamic figures representing Muslim nations and minorities. Members are appointed through a formal decision issued by the MWL.
To qualify for membership, candidates must be Islamic preachers actively engaged in Da’wah and possess a recognized record of service in Islamic work.
The Council convenes periodically to deliberate on research and matters presented by the General Secretariat or by at least three of its members. Its purpose is to guide MWL activities and provide advice, recommendations, and support to states and groups serving the interests of Islam and Muslims. Membership in the Supreme Council is voluntary, with no salary or financial compensation provided.

His Eminence Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh, Grand Mufti of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars.
His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Vice President of the Supreme Council of the MWL, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League, and member of the Council of Senior Scholars.
