The Muslim World League Welcomes the Announcement by the President of the United States to Lift Sanctions on Syria Following the Request of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia

The Muslim World League (MWL) expresses its sincere appreciation for the announcement made by the President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump, during his address from Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, regarding the complete lifting of U.S. sanctions on the Syrian Arab Republic. This significant development comes in response to the request of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia—may Allah protect him.
In a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the MWL, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, hailed the decision as a pivotal step toward alleviating the suffering of the Syrian people, strengthening the foundations of stability in Syria, and supporting its path toward recovery and a more hopeful future.
His Excellency underscored that this announcement reflects a new achievement of Saudi diplomacy—affirming the wisdom of its leadership and the Kingdom’s influential role both within the Islamic world and on the global stage. He further prayed that Allah the Almighty reward the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince—may Allah safeguard them—for their ongoing efforts in the service of the Islamic Ummah and all of humanity.
