The Muslim World League Condemns the Enactment of the Death Penalty Law in the Occupied West Bank

Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) expressed its strong condemnation of the enactment of a law by the Israeli authorities—approved by the Knesset—authorizing the imposition of the death penalty in the occupied West Bank, and its reported discriminatory application against Palestinians.

In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, denounced this legislation as a serious violation of the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people, raising grave concerns regarding principles of justice, equality, and respect for human rights, including the treatment of Palestinian detainees.

His Excellency affirmed the MWL’s support for the positions expressed by the Foreign Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Türkiye, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Indonesia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the State of Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates in this regard.
