In Jeddah, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, met with His Excellency Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India. During the meeting, they discussed and explored the proposal of organizing a “Summit of Diversity and Harmony” in India, as well as several topics of mutual interest. They also firmly condemned the terrorist attack that took place in the Pahalgam region of Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the loss of innocent civilian lives. Both leaders emphasized their rejection and condemnation of violence and terrorism in all its forms and under any pretext, reaffirming their solidarity in countering extremist ideologies and practices. They underscored the importance of not associating terrorism with any religion, race, or culture, while also referencing the joint statement issued at the conclusion of the Prime Minister of India’s visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the important points it addressed in this regard—particularly its firm rejection of any attempt to link terrorism with any race, religion, or culture. The statement also emphasized cooperation between the two countries in combating terrorism and its financing, and in condemning transboundary terrorism.
