Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has expressed its appreciation for the statement issued by the Co-Chairs of the United Nations High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Issue and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, jointly chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of France.
In a statement released by its General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, emphasized the Muslim world's collective gratitude for the pivotal leadership of the International Coalition to Implement the Two-State Solution, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The convening of this conference represents a significant achievement, further strengthened by the coalition’s swift diplomatic efforts in building global consensus in support of the legitimate legal and humanitarian rights of the Palestinian people.
His Excellency also expressed profound regret over the recent developments and escalation in the region, which necessitated the suspension of this historic conference — a conference anticipated by the international community as a vital step toward a peaceful resolution. The MWL reaffirmed that this conference constitutes a critical opportunity to implement the two-state solution, end decades of injustice, and alleviate the prolonged humanitarian suffering endured by the Palestinian people, particularly in the Gaza Strip.
Sheikh Al-Issa commended the statement’s unequivocal commitment to supporting all sincere and coordinated efforts to end the conflict in Gaza and achieve a just, comprehensive, and sustainable resolution to the Palestinian issue through the realization of the two-state solution.
