The Muslim World League (MWL) has condemned the terrorist attack that occurred at a church in the Syrian capital, Damascus, which resulted in numerous fatalities and injuries.

In a statement issued by its General Secretariat, the MWL reaffirmed its position—which reflects the stance of the Islamic peoples under its inclusive umbrella—of unequivocally rejecting and denouncing all forms and justifications of violence and terrorism. It also expressed its sympathy for the families of the victims and affirmed its full solidarity with the Syrian people in confronting any threats to their security and stability.

The MWL extended its heartfelt condolences to the Syrian Arab Republic—its government and people—as well as to the families of the victims of this heinous crime, while wishing a swift and full recovery to those injured.
