Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has expressed its aspiration for the outcomes of the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit for Peace, hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt, which aimed at ending the war on the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, expressed his hope that the summit's outcomes would contribute to alleviating the humanitarian catastrophe suffered by the people of Gaza, ensuring the complete withdrawal of the occupying government’s forces, guaranteeing the swift and sufficient delivery of aid to the stricken Gaza Strip, and advancing the two-state solution in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the “New York Declaration” for a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue. He reaffirmed that the two-state solution—whose international efforts were led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in partnership with the French Republic—remains the only path toward achieving a lasting, comprehensive, and just peace in the region.
